Madison is nestled centrally along the Connecticut shoreline, approximately 25 minutes from New Haven. Known as a summer respite for many, Madison is also a family friendly, year round town with a well respected school system and active Parks and Recreation Department. You will find scenic streets, beautiful homes, a unique collection of local businesses and plenty of historical places to explore in this town of approximately 18,000 residents.

Madison students are served by the Madison Public School District, and its schools consistently rank among the best in the area. There are seven schools, with one pre-school, three elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school. The recently built Daniel Hand High School offers an International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

The Commute
Getting Around

Madison residents have easy access to I-95, and Shore Line East provides train service to New Haven and Old Saybrook. The average daily commute time to work is less than 30 minutes.

Madison prides itself on offering engaging activities for all ages, including classes at the Arts Barn, a variety of activities for seniors at the Madison Senior Center, and opportunities for young people through the Parks and Recreation Department and Madison Youth & Family Services. Outdoor activities abound, from water sports and beach play to walking on the Madison section of the Shoreline Greenway Trail. Madison's local business scene features everything you could want, including great bars, fabulous restaurants and charming shops along Main Street. You can shop until you drop at many unique stores or take in some art at one of the local galleries. Madison offers easy access to other communities throughout New Haven County, so there will always be new things to explore.
