  • Stony Creek - A desirable, shorefront community that combines historic homes with beautiful views of Long Island Sound and provides access to the Thimble Islands, an archipelago consisting of small islands in Long Island Sound located in and around the Stony Creek harbor.
  • Indian Neck - a waterfront community with a quaint feel enjoying close proximity to the Branford Harbor, with multiple large parks for many forms of recreation, shoreside and riverside restaurants, and a train station.
  • Short Beach - Located at the very western end of town, Short Beach is home to a mix of quaint beach cottages, condos and large waterfront homes, as well as the Yale Corinthian Yacht Club and the Connecticut Hospice.
  • Branford Center - Centered around the town’s bustling Green, Branford Center’s residents, as well as people who work in the area, enjoy many local shops, salons, spas and popular eateries for all tastes.

What are the schools like in Branford, Connecticut?

Branford offers a number of excellent public and private schools. Branford High School serves about 1,200 students in grades nine through twelve and is known for a holistic, project-based approach to learning that has challenging requirements in math, science and writing. East Catholic Shoreline Academy is an inter-parish pre-k through grade 8 school serving families living in Branford, Guilford and Madison.

What is the commute like in Branford, Connecticut?

Branford is located along I-95, with three exit/entrance ramps for easy access to the highway, making for a short drive to New Haven for work and fun.  The Shoreline East Rail Service offers ample free parking and convenient commutes to New London and New Haven, so you can easily commute to New York City.  Tweed New Haven Airport is just minutes away for short commercial flights and private charters.

What is there to do in Branford, Connecticut?

Branford delivers many opportunities for outdoor activities, from kayaking and boating on Long Island Sound to traversing 400 acres of public preserve land and the Branford Trail.  Locals love its fishing, water sports and breathtaking beaches. An afternoon cruise to the Thimble Islands is a great way to spend a summer afternoon.

The Owenego Beach and Tennis Club features a historic inn, beautiful gardens and beachfront, making it a favorite spot for all members of the family.  The Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club, founded in 1901, is a family oriented club offering a nine hole golf course, tennis courts, Olympic swimming pool, locker rooms and a 100 slip marina.  Branford is also home to a community YMCA with multiple pools, child care and workout classes. The Branford Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with Connecticut Hospice for swimming and aqua classes at Hospice’s outdoor beachside pool.

Have a picnic lunch with your family at Foote Family Memorial Park or go for a hike with your dog on the trails around Young’s Pond. If shopping is more your style, you can enjoy an afternoon in Branford’s eclectic local shops along the town Green and have a meal at one of the many local restaurants. Branford also has a unique craft brewing scene as home to three different local breweries.

The centerpiece of the Branford annual social calendar is the Branford Festival, but many other events fill up the calendar all year round.
